Objectives of the Association

To hold conferences, to discuss matters of interest concerning education.

To appoint deputations and delegates whether members of the Association or not, to represent the views of the Association to any person or body, and to make any investigation in India or elsewhere.

To employ any pay officers, (including secretaries, inspectors and examiners) clerks and servants.

To pay expenses of any officer, clerk or servant and of any deputation or delegate.

To pay expenses of members or of any other person attending any conference whether of the Association or of any other body.

To elect representatives to the Governing Body of Managing Committee of any university, university college, hostel, school or class and of any body keeping a register of teachers or administering any provident fund or pension scheme, and of any body conducting examinations in India or elsewhere.

To elect representatives to the Board of Electors to any scholarship, exhibition, bursary or prize tenable in India or elsewhere.

To elect representatives to any Advisory Committee or other body having power to make recommendations for administration of School Cadet Corps, to any Scouts and Guides Association, and to the Governing Body of any game or recreation.

To make grants of money to any person or body and to grant scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries and prizes tenable in India, in Europe or elsewhere.

To conduct an agency for the purchase and sale to members or others of books, furniture, stationery and apparatus and any other supplies.

To conduct an agency for the appointment of teachers, and to charge fees in connection with such agency.

To conduct an education journal and to charge subscriptions therefor.

To make appeal to Government, to any public body or to any limited class of persons or to the public generally for financial or other assistance for any educational purpose.

To conduct an employment bureau for the benefit of pupils in Anglo-Indian Schools.

To hold examinations, open and closed, in any subject or group of subjects, to issue certificates, and to charge entrance fees.

To establish and administer a provident fund and pension scheme, whether closed to particular classes of teachers or open to all teachers and employees of schools.

To support any provident fund or pension scheme administered by any other educational body.

To establish and administer a register of teachers, to decide the qualifications for the admission to the register, or to charge fees for admission thereto and to issue certificates.

To support a register of teachers maintained by any other educational body.

To establish and maintain hostels and university colleges for the benefit of pupils in Anglo-Indian schools and to charge fees for admission thereto.

To affiliate such hostels or colleges to universities in India, in Europe or elsewhere.

To establish and maintain technical, commercial or other specialised schools and classes for the furtherance of education and to charge fees for admission thereto.

To establish and maintain schools and classes for primary, secondary or advanced secondary studies and to charge fees for admission thereto.

To invest any funds of the Association in any securities whatever.

Generally, to do all such acts deeds and things as may further the interests of education in general or of the schools of members in particular.
